The Camp Chief Ouray Day Camp is designed to promote growth and development for campers.  We believe that our day camp is unique, and not only provides children with activities that are recreational in nature, but goes beyond recreation to give children the opportunity to grow in other ways.  Our programs provide opportunities for play, for learning responsibility for our natural resources, and for growth in self-esteem and social skills.  Through trained, qualified leadership, children have experiences that enrich their lives.

We will promote:
1. CARING for self and others
2. HONESTY in actions and words
3. RESPECT of others, ourselves and the environment
4. RESPONSIBILITY for actions and duties
5. FAITH in self, others and God.

Camp Chief Ouray Day Camp staff are highly trained and very committed.  Our counselors are college students or graduates and are trained in CPR and Basic First Aid.  They are hard-working young men and women who are not only role models of the YMCA core values, but are also dedicated, experienced, responsible, enthusiastic, positive and fun!

Mission: YMCA of the Rockies puts Christian principles into practice through programs, staff and facilities in an environment that builds a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Our goal is to offer challenging experiences to build leaders through life-long skill development in a safe, imaginative, natural setting. We instill confidence through independence and interpersonal skills. We challenge our campers to discover their true selves.
