As an employee, you will meet people representing all dimensions of diversity, and will live each day with a greater sense of purpose. You’ll learn to lead with heart and measure success by the impactful moments you’re able to create for campers, families, and fellow staff. This is a place where nature inspires and quality time happens naturally. Our serene surroundings of Rocky Mountain National Park provide moments of tranquility throughout our days and remind us how lucky we are to grow our careers in such a beautiful and supportive workplace.

  • Contribute to a cooperative and positive camp community
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep and cleanliness of the camp facility
  • Assist other camp departments as needed

Applicants must be:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Excited to mentor and work with youth with previous experience doing so
  • Be able to care for themselves and others mentally

International applicants without Dual Citizenship:

We carefully recruit, select, and maintain staff for their enthusiasm, maturity, skills, and ability to display our core values.

We conduct a detailed and intensive multi-set application and interview process, which consists of learning about your prior experiences and how you have put others’ needs before yours.

We will conduct multiple criminal, professional and personal background checks to ensure that we have the best staff. All staff (including kitchen and maintenance) are fingerprinted, and background checked through CBI, TRAILS, the Central Registry for Crimes Against Children, National Sex Offenders sites, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation by Colorado licensing requirements. Camp will follow up on all references provided by the interviewee.

A well-trained staff is crucial to an exciting and unforgettable camp experience. At camp, we spend over 10 days training our staff.

It is extremely important for all of our CCO staff to attend Staff Training in order to learn about our program, build rapport with the CCO staff team, and gain valuable certifications. Though we prefer staff to be present for the entirety of our summer schedule, we are flexible with staff schedules throughout the summer and this should not be a deterrent to applying.

Training includes Child Abuse Prevention Training. Colorado Child Care licenses us following all laws, and we are accredited through the American Camp Association (ACA) and Praesidium, an organization that ensures our policies about child abuse prevention are written and practiced daily for the safety of our participants.

We are asked frequently "Do I have to be Christian to work for CCO and the YMCA of the Rockies?" No! YMCA of the Rockies is an organization founded on Christian principles, meaning we live out our mission through our core values caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. You do not need to be Christian to work for CCO or the Y.
