Let your camper experience the wonder of CCO, and the opportunity to benefit from the self-confidence, trust, friendships, fun and memories created by the summer camp experience.

Day Camp Registration uses a lottery system.

Applications for 2024 Day Camp Lottery are CLOSED. Your next opportunity to enroll or add your name to the waitlist will be April 1st 12:00 PM MDT.

See more information and frequently asked questions below under "2024 Lottery Information."

Day Camp Information

  • Applications for the 2024 Day Camp Lottery are CLOSED.
  • The application will reopen for enrollment or waitlist status on April 1st at 12:00 PM MDT. REMINDER: Campers must be 5 years of age to attend their first day of camp per our Colorado Child Care License.
  • You can apply for as many weeks as you like for each camper. You must apply each camper in your family for the weeks that you would like them to be enrolled.
  • We will split everyone into subgroups based on the following:

Group 1) Returning Day Camp Families (including waitlisted families)

Group 2) YMCA of the Rockies Members

Group 3) New to Day Camp Local Families

    Group 4) New Non-Local Families
  •  “Locals” are defined as anyone who has a residence with a Grand County zip code.
  • Families who may fall into two groups will be placed to the highest level (For example: if a family has a return camper and a new camper, they will fall into the returners group).
  • After the application closes, your family will randomly be assigned a lottery number within your grouping. After all groupings have been verified, we will start enrolling campers into their selected weeks by grouping first and then lottery numbers.
  • At this time, if selected, you will automatically be enrolled, and deposits will be charged. Deposits are $20/week/camper plus the $10/camper one-time registration fee (For example: If I have one camper enrolled for one week, I will be charged $30. If I have one camper enrolled for four weeks, I will be charged $90).
  • If your camper(s) is not enrolled for a certain week because all spots are filled, they will be entered on the wait list in order of lottery number.
  • All families will be notified via email no later than March 8th of their status (what weeks they were enrolled in, and which weeks are waitlisted).
Wait List: If a family decides to cancel a week, we will go to the wait list and notify the family of the first camper listed. We will call to ensure you want to enroll and you will have 48 hours to respond. If we receive no response, we will move on to the next family on the wait list and remove your camper from the wait list. We cannot predict if or when a spot may open.
  • If you miss the March 4th deadline, the next chance to sign up will be April 1st at 12:00 PM MST. At this point when registering your camper(s) will automatically be enrolled or waitlisted based on availability.

 Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the chances my camper(s) will receive a spot?
We cannot predict anyone’s chances of being enrolled in Day Camp. The lottery system is a more equitable way to ensure families can be considered for spots in our program.

Am I considered a YMCA of the Rockies member if I belong to another YMCA?
No, you must have a specific YMCA of the Rockies membership. We operate independently from other YMCA’s in the country.

If I get a YMCA of the Rockies membership, does this mean I will get a spot?
We cannot guarantee anyone will get a spot in day camp.

How many weeks can I apply for?
There is no limit. There is the possibility that your camper is enrolled for some weeks and waitlisted for others due to availability.

Can I create an account ahead of time to make sure I am ready?
There is no need to do so. During the time in which the application is open, anyone can create an account and apply.  Having an open window is meant to take the stress out of the process. The lottery will take place on March 5th after the application closes.

What is the cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your camper’s registration, please contact us as soon as possible so your
camper’s spot can be given to another waiting camper. Refunds will be made if cancellations are made with at least seven days' notice, unless there is a balance due. Payments will be rolled over to other weeks the camper is registered for. Cancellations with less than seven days' notice will be charged a $30 cancellation fee. There will be no refunds if a child goes home early in cases of illnesses that happen at camp, disciplinary action, bullying or homesickness. Missed days during a session will not be refunded or credited. Refunds will be issued for medical reasons only with written verification from a physician.

What if I miss the application period between February 19th - March 4th?
The next chance to register would be April 1st.
