ITINERARY
The itinerary for this program varies by session, though all participants in each session will do the same activities. Each SIT session includes:
Leadership and skill-based topics covered during SIT include Leave No Trace, trip preparation and packing, navigation with map and compass, triangulation, off-trail travel, risk management, basic mountain bike maintenance and repair, river travel and terminology, group dynamics, conflict resolution, leading groups in the backcountry, leading by example, and leadership outside CCO.
This program involves an application and selection process that requires initiative and dedication from the camper. “The best part of SIT was getting to do things I never would have gotten the opportunity to do at home like rafting and mountain biking.” -SIT Camper
