The CIT program is for participants who have completed the 11th grade and are genuinely interested in acquiring the skills necessary to be a camp counselor. The group will participate in a 4-day/3-night backpacking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park, a one day raft trip on the upper Colorado River, a Leave No Trace certification course, a community service project, and a week long training program similar to our staff training. The final two weeks are spent observing and assisting in the leadership of regular camp programs.

To apply for CIT, a parent must create a CampInTouch account and fill out the camper application. Once complete, navigate to the “Forms & Documents” section of your CampInTouch account. The applied camper must then fill out and submit the form called LTP supplemental questions. Once complete, the LTP director will contact the camper for a 15-20 minute phone interview. Simultaneously during this process, the camper will need to obtain 2 letters of recommendation. Once the online questions and interview are complete and the two letters of recommendation are submitted, then the LTP Director will notify the camper of their acceptance to the program. Campers are enrolled on a rolling base as they complete their applications. Spots for the program are not guaranteed until the camper is officially accepted and enrolled.
