Founded in 1908, Camp Chief Ouray is known as one of the nation’s best summer camps.

Campers learn, work and play together, creating a collaborative and creative experience. By practicing the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith, campers raise their self-esteem and learn to function better in a team environment. We offer unsurpassed, rewarding camping experiences for youth ages 7 to 17. The campers experience creativity, individuality and excitement. Our counselors and programs provide stepping-stones to use these qualities to help campers reach their goals.

We empower youth to grow through adventure and challenge, providing campers opportunities for developing leadership and relationship building skills while learning about our core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith. Traditional Overnight Campers stay in cabins with campers of the same gender identity and age. The camp strives to maintain a 1:5 counselor to camper ratio. Campers make life-long friends as they enjoy the Colorado Rocky Mountains at an altitude of more than 8,750 feet. Give your camper the experience of a lifetime by sending them to Camp Chief Ouray!

Safety is a priority for us here at CCO. All staff members go through an extensive interview process which includes background checks. In addition we spend several weeks training our staff and also ask them to sign a Code of Conduct prior to their employment.
